Pros of building a long-term relationship with your auto technician
They know your car and its history
One of the big things, at least for me, is that when I go to the same mechanic again and again not only do they get to know me they also know the history of my car.
They know what it has been through. They know my driving patterns. And this allows them to recommend personalized services, repairs, or maintenance that keep my car running as great as it can for as long as it can.
And it’s a bonus that I don’t have to remember or recite my car’s history every time I take it in.
This is kind of how it is for every relationship right?
The more you get to know someone the better communication gets as you get to understand each other better. This opens the door for a deeper understanding of your repairs because you are more comfortable asking the questions on your mind.
It can be really intimidating going into a new shop to get a car repair and having a burning question but feeling like you just can’t ask or it will make you look gullible. I get that.
That’s why having a good communication and history with a mechanic is important it takes that intimidation away.
Deep level of trust
After going to a specific mechanic over time you get to know each other and know that they are providing you with the best advice they can based on your particular situation.
I don’t know if it feels like this for you but I know to me it seems like cars are as unique as people. Each one has it’s own personality quirks and issues.
And when you’ve got your mechanic who knows your car inside and out you can trust that they are going to give you solid advice and respect your relationship.
Greater confidence in the service
And through all the pros this one is one of the coolest.
By gaining insight, opening communication & developing trust you with your mechanic you are able to feel a greater confidence in the service you are receiving.
You know that they are going to take good care of you and not try to pull a fast one.
You know that when you drive off the lot they have given your car the care and attention it deserves.
And that they stand by their service.
Another key feature of building a long-term relationship?
They become referable

Don’t forget that they are people to they just happen to run a business. And the best complement you can give them is to refer them. This becomes easier after you’ve had some experience with the shop and technician and feel confident that you are recommending your friend or family member to receive the excellent service you receive from the shop.
